“there is just one way to stop violence against women, and that is by educating the whole community”
Educate, Empower and Enable to Prevent, Protect, and Support
The Soroptimist three E model (Educate, Empower, Enable Opportunities) is one of the most effective ways to address violence against women and girls.
Education is shown to reduce incidents of violence and acts as a protective factor for both victim/survivors and potential perpetrators.
Empowerment supports women to overcome violence and to reduce re-occurrences.
Working within the larger community to enable opportunities for women and girls will change the attitudes and behaviours that allow violence to continue.
